We are both stay-at-home moms of preschool-aged
children. Shortly after moving to Austin, we began searching for a good preschool
in our area. Although, there were many fine schools available, none seemed to
fit all of our needs. We wanted a part-time program with longer hours than the
usual 3 to 4 hours that were currently available. Like all mothers, we worried
whether our children would be well prepared and ready for Kindergarten. Therefore,
it was crucial for us to find an academic curriculum as opposed to "play-based",
or daycare programs. Since most schools are closed during the summer we also
wanted something year-round so we wouldn't have to scramble to find daycamps
or other suitable activities. Above all, we wanted a preschool that was staffed
with happy, caring, and well-educated teachers. We also found from speaking
with other moms in our area that there was definitely more room for improvement!
We began our yearlong task of researching what makes a preschool great. In addition
to reading countless materials, more importantly, we spent a great deal of time
speaking with parents and teachers. The end result is an exceptional program
that (we're certain) will best meet the needs of you and your children.
