Our Program
Ducklings Classroom: (12 months to 24 months)
In the Ducklings class, students are learning the routine of school while focusing on their gross motor skills as well as their fine motor skills. We do a lot of sensory activities, art projects, age-appropriate puzzles, musical instruments, sing songs, dance, and engage in dramatic play in our home center! Most importantly, this special age group will be introduced to the importance of developing our social and emotional skills though sharing, taking turns, and waiting for our turn with our friends.
Foxes Classroom: (2's)
In our Fox classroom, we are introducing letters and their sounds, numbers, colors and identifying shapes. We practice strengthening our fine motor skills by introducing how to hold and use scissors, glue, and a variety of manipulatives (playdough, kinetic sand, unifix cubes, geoboards, geometry builders) along with sensory materials. The Foxes also begin potty training, working on personal hygiene skills, and work on their social development.
Frogs Classroom: (Older 2's/Young 3's)
In the Frogs class, we focus on our growing social and emotional skills. We work on using our words to express ourselves and our feelings, practice how to play with our friends as we move away from parallel play and we facilitate a lot of dramatic play inside the classroom. Academically, we learn counting and number recognition, shape and color recognition, as well as introducing letters of the alphabet. We even begin to recognize our names around the classroom!
Pandas Classroom: (3's)
In the Pandas class we love to highlight fine motor skills, sensory experiences, and self-help skills. We follow Handwriting Without Tears, learning one letter each week and celebrate with a Letter Party at the end of the year. Children practice simple patterns, one to one counting to ten, and are familiarized with seeing their names written. With a wide range of themes from Continents to Seeds, children learn about our world through song, hands on experiences and sensory play.
Monkeys Classroom: (Older 3's/Young 4's)
In the Monkeys class, we are all about getting prepared for Pre-K! There is a large focus on our fine motor skills being built, we use scissors, do line tracing, lots of stringing, beading and manipulative use, as well as working with letters, numbers, and learning how to spell our names! We also tend to focus on the emotional development of each child, building self-confidence during circle time and throughout the day as well as working on our independence as we grow!
Bears, Turtles, and Owls Pre-K Classrooms: (Older 4's/5's)
In each of our three Pre-K classes, children learn how to write their first and last name, write numbers 1-20 and the entire alphabet, some simple addition and subtraction, skip counting, rhyming, and even pre-reading by learning some basic sight words! We participate in fun celebrations like the 100th Day of School, Dr. Seuss' birthday, and we even plant a garden in the spring! Our goal is to build up confidence and excitement so we can foster a life-long love for learning!
